What is an Oxygen Generator?
An oxygen generator, also known as an O2 generator or oxygen generation, is a device that extracts oxygen from ambient air. By using PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) technology — also referred to as PSA oxygen meaning in technical terms — nitrogen is removed from the air to produce high-purity oxygen. This technology is ideal for both medical and industrial applications.
How Does an Oxygen Generator Work?
Oxygen generators use PSA technology to extract oxygen from the air. Air is passed through a molecular sieve that adsorbs nitrogen and allows oxygen to pass through. The resulting oxygen has a purity of 90% to 95%. The continuous regeneration of the molecular sieve enables uninterrupted operation.
