FAQ Oxygen Generator
The main industrial methods to produce oxygen are cryogenic distillation and PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption). In the cryogenic method, air is cooled to very low temperatures (around –183°C) until it liquefies, and then oxygen, nitrogen and other components are separated by fractional distillation based on their boiling points. In the PSA method, compressed air is passed through a bed of adsorbent material (typically zeolite molecular sieve), which captures nitrogen and lets oxygen pass — after cycling through adsorption and desorption phases, a steady flow of oxygen (often around 90–95% purity) is obtained.
PSA oxygen generators provide oxygen directly on-site, lower operational costs, and are more cost-effective than producing and transporting oxygen liquid.
