Membrane performance depends strongly on compressed air preparation. The membrane module is only one part of a complete and reliable industrial nitrogen generation solution.
The compressed air supply must be correctly filtered and dried before entering the membrane modules. Particles, oil aerosols and unsuitable moisture conditions may negatively affect system reliability and membrane lifetime.
BERG designs the pressure dew point safely below the membrane feed temperature and selects the filtration stages according to the compressor, ambient conditions and membrane requirements.

Compressed air enters bundles of polyimide hollow fibres. Oxygen, water vapour and other fast-permeating components pass more rapidly through the membrane wall, while a nitrogen-enriched gas stream continues to the product outlet.
