Here's how the VA 500 flow meter works to monitor compressed air: Principle of Operation: The VA 500 flow meter measures the flow rate of compressed air by utilizing two temperature sensors and a heater element within the flow sensor probe. One sensor measures the actual gas temperature, while the other sensor is heated to a constant temperature above the gas temperature. Thermal Dispersion: As the compressed air flows past the heated sensor, heat is transferred from the sensor to the gas. The amount of heat transferred is directly proportional to the mass flow rate of the compressed air. The difference in temperature between the two sensors is used to calculate the flow rate of the compressed air. Signal Processing: The VA 500 flow meter processes the temperature difference signal and converts it into a digital output representing the actual flow rate of the compressed air in standard units such as cubic feet per minute (CFM) or liters per minute (LPM). Monitoring and Display: The VA 500 flow meter provides real-time monitoring of the compressed air flow rate through a digital display or communication interface. Operators can view and track the flow rate data to ensure that the system is operating within specified parameters. Features and Benefits: The VA 500 flow meter offers high accuracy, fast response time, and low pressure drop, making it suitable for a wide range of compressed air applications. It can help operators optimize system performance, detect leaks, and improve energy efficiency by providing accurate flow rate measurements. Overall, the VA 500 flow meter for compressed air monitoring is a reliable and effective tool for measuring and monitoring the flow rate of compressed air in industrial applications, helping operators maintain system efficiency and reduce operational costs.

The ISO air quality chart provides guidelines for the maximum allowable levels of contaminants in compressed air systems based on the ISO 8573 standard. The ISO 8573 standard specifies purity classes for different contaminants such as particles, water, and oil in compressed air systems. When it comes to an inline flow meter like the VA 520 with a thread connection, the thread type and size can have an impact on the air quality in a compressed air system. The thread connection of the flow meter can potentially introduce contaminants into the system if not properly sealed or if the thread material is not compatible with the air quality requirements. It is important to ensure that the thread connection of the flow meter is properly sealed and does not introduce contaminants into the system. Additionally, the material of the thread should be compatible with the air quality requirements to prevent any contamination issues. When selecting an inline flow meter like the VA 520 for a compressed air system, it is essential to consider the thread connection type, size, and material to ensure that it does not negatively impact the air quality according to the ISO 8573 standard. It is recommended to consult the manufacturer's specifications and guidelines to ensure that the flow meter meets the air quality requirements of the system.

The flow meter VA 500 with display will have a built-in screen that shows real-time flow rate readings, totalized flow volume, and possibly other relevant information. This makes it easier for the user to monitor and track the flow measurements directly on the device. On the other hand, the flow meter VA 500 without display will not have a built-in screen, so the user will need to connect it to an external display or monitoring system to view the flow rate and other data. This may require additional equipment and setup but can be a cost-effective option for applications where a separate display is already available. In summary, the main difference is the presence or absence of a display screen on the flow meter itself, which affects how the flow data is displayed and accessed by the user.

By analyzing the moisture and oil content of the compressed air, users can obtain important data that can be used to classify the quality of the compressed air according to ISO 8573 standards. ISO 8573 is an international standard that defines the purity classes of compressed air based on the levels of contaminants present, including particles, water, and oil. By using the dew point sensor with DPM set in conjunction with other monitoring devices, users can accurately assess the quality of the compressed air and determine its ISO 8573 oil class classification. Overall, the Metpoint BDL P dew point sensor with DPM set provides valuable information regarding the moisture and oil content of compressed air, enabling users to maintain high-quality compressed air systems that meet ISO 8573 standards for purity and performance.

METPOINT®️ DPM SD23 with BDL compact
METPOINT®️ DPM SD23 with BDL compact - data logger - DPM SD23 dew point trasmitter - Data logger METPOINT®️ BDL compact 2D - MK-Basic-PN16 Measuring chamber with quick-release coupling NW 7.2 plug nipple - parameterized and fully assembled - Connecting cable (5m) METPOINT®️ DPM: Sensor technology for precise pressure dew point measurement Humidity in compressed air applications is a problem and can, in most cases, damage the system and contaminate end products. The ideal instrument for monitoring residual moisture is the pressure dewpoint sensor METPOINT DPM. Our sensor technology enables you to accurately measure the degree of humidity or the pressure dew point at critical flow points in your compressed air system. This information is indispensable for operators who want to improve the quality of their compressed air whilst saving energy and costs.  How can provide the high quality dry compressed air in our production process: The METPOINT DPM is a dew point monitor designed to help compressed air systems maintain high-quality dry compressed air. Dew point is a critical parameter in compressed air systems as it indicates the level of moisture present in the compressed air. Excessive moisture can lead to corrosion, contamination, and reduced efficiency in pneumatic equipment. The METPOINT DPM continuously monitors the dew point of the compressed air, providing real-time data on the moisture content. By accurately measuring the dew point, the METPOINT DPM allows operators to identify potential issues such as condensation, water vapor, or leaks in the system that could compromise the quality of the compressed air. By monitoring and controlling the dew point, the METPOINT DPM helps compressed air systems maintain optimal conditions for producing high-quality dry compressed air. This ensures that the compressed air is free from moisture and contaminants, reducing the risk of equipment damage and performance issues. Overall, the METPOINT DPM plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of compressed air systems by helping to maintain high-quality dry compressed air. Its accurate monitoring capabilities enable operators to take proactive measures to prevent issues related to moisture and ensure the smooth operation of their compressed air systems. METPOINT®️ DPM stationary pressure dew point transmitter measures the most critical parameters for compressed air and technical gases i.e. temperature, relative humidity and dew point (down to -60 °Ctd).  But that is not all: The METPOINT®️ DPM sensor provides information regarding the functional capabilities for components and the measurement provides the basic data for the optimum dimensioning for your system. The METPOINT®️ DPM sensor is therefore not just a safety guarantee in your process chain, rather also an instrument for increasing production efficiency. Make quality visible – by recording it The METPOINT®️ BDL compact data logger is a compact device with powerful measuring and evaluation functions, including instant alarms in the case of exceedances. It measures all key quality parameters for compressed air and enables you to evaluate the efficiency of your system by identifying hidden cost drivers. User-friendly statistics and charts provide the information you need for effective quality and energy management. The METPOINT®️ BDL compact features two sensor inputs. On request, it is available with two additional digital or analog inputs, e.g. for power meters or pressure sensors. All critical parameters of your processes can be called up on the screen, so that you can intervene without delay if required. The compact device can be equipped with a 2 GB data logger, so that you can track performance over time, which is a prerequisite for continuous quality and efficiency improvement.
