What is an Air Compressor Water Separator?
Water separators are specialised devices used in compressed air systems to remove moisture from compressed air. Humidity can enter the system through the ambient air and compressor operation, affecting the efficiency and lifespan of production equipment and compromising your end products.
How Do Water Separators Work?
The operation of water separators is based on the centrifugal effect. Inside the water separator is an insert with vanes that create a controlled rotation of the air. The centrifugal force pushes liquids such as water and oil, as well as large particles, to the wall of the housing. These impurities slow down and collect at the bottom of the separator housing as condensate. An automatic or electronic Condensate Drain is required to discharge the condensate from the water separator.

Where must be install the water separate in compressed air line ?
The best installation position for a water separator in a compressed air system is immediately after the Air Compressor and before the Air Receiver Tank. Installing a water separator here ensures that the bulk of the liquid water and oil is removed before the air enters the air receiver tank.
